Trendy dog products company FetchDog joins Mary Tyler Moore, Bernadette Peters, Glenn Close and other celebrities for the 10th annual Broadway Barks charity event to help find loving homes for abandoned dogs and cats in New York City.

FetchDog is gearing up for the 10th annual Broadway Barks charity event in New York City on Saturday, July 12 in Shubert Alley from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m..

Actresses Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters are the founders and inspiration of Broadway Barks, which donates thousands of dollars each year to pet shelters and dog adoption services throughout New York City.

FetchDog will be represented by none other than Golden Globe and Emmy award winning actress Glenn Close, who is a life-long dog lover and co-founder of FetchDog.

Today Ms. Close posts a new entry in her "Lively Licks" blog about the dog rescue organization Bobbi and the Strays. The post features a video she shot and photo essay about her visit to Bobbi and the Strays, a grassroots dog rescue service in Queens. She shares with her readers the bare bones conditions in which these dogs live and the challenges the staff and volunteers face as they care for these dogs who otherwise would be either lost or euthanized.

In a related blog post, Bernadette Peters talks to Glenn Close about her lifelong affection for dogs and her commitment to the care of homeless animals via Broadway Barks. Bobbi and the Strays is just one of the organizations who will be bringing dogs for adoption to the Broadway Barks event.

Broadway Barks is a public event that features a silent auction, a special book signing for Ms. Peters' new book "Broadway Barks" and opportunities to meet some of the dogs and cats who need homes.

FetchDog will be donating a summer favorite for dogs, the Ice Lick to the silent auction. In addition, they will be bringing bowls to the event for the dogs and the swag bags: the Go Between Travel Dog Bowl and the Stainless Puppy Dish. If you can't attend, you can still help. FetchDog will be donating a portion of sales on selected dog products at http://www.fetchdog.com to dog charities participating in Broadway Barks
