Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. (PRWEB) July 13, 2008
As the population of retirees from the United States in Baja California continues to grow, the demand for medical and assistance services has grown proportionally. Now there is a solution, the Serena Full Assistance Card, a support system to help visitors and retirees have a better and easier life in Baja California. The program will be unveiled on July 26th at the Historic Rosarito Beach Hotel during the Serena Senior Fair, Home and Health Expo.
Many of these expatriates that are enjoying their retirement in the coastal region between Tijuana and Ensenada and people that have a second home in the area, require support in their daily lives, some one to call that can resolve common problems or find new resources for them. The Serena Full Assistance Card provides bilingual assistance by telephone through a toll free number both in Mexico and in the U.S., 24 hours a day all year round, to help its members resolve emergencies or those daily challenges of life. The support is focused on Health and Property Care.
This new assistance program not only resolves practical issues related to taking care of your property such as sending a locksmith to open your door at 3:00 a.m., fixing a leaky pipe or a maid to clean your house after a party, but it also is a valuable resource regarding your health.
The medical assistance component of the Serena Full Assistance Card is the key for its member's peace of mind, starting with establishing a local medical record with a certified physician that includes basic blood tests and an interview with a doctor. Having a medical record in Mexico could be a life saver in case of emergency, as dispatchers can provide timely information to paramedics or ambulance operators. Medical records will be available online through secure access, which would be extremely helpful for designated loved ones that can make decisions for card members and facilitate making any arrangements or dealing with authorities.
Additionally the program includes substantial savings and special packages with the best doctors, hospitals and clinics in the region, including the state-of-the-art facilities of Angeles Hospital in Tijuana or the convenience of service at Bonanova Hospital in Rosarito. Physicians in the network include Dr. Clemente Zuñiga, considered one of Mexico's top Geriatricians, Cardiologist Lorenzo Arce, Urologist Jorge Baylon, Dr. Eduardo Guadiana specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology, as well as Dr. Jose Luis Ruink PM&R.
Beyond having peace of mind this program is about enjoying life in Baja. The program includes discounts in some of the most prestigious shops, restaurants and hotels such as the historic Rosarito Beach Hotel and Calafia Hotel, northern style tacos with "El Gerente", a refreshing Frapuccino at Capuchino´s or hot pancakes at Pancake Republic. Other pleasures include significant discounts at the Oceana Medical Spa, for professional massages, facials and other pampering services. Also you can have fun at Xploration Studios where the latest chapter of Narnia is being filmed.
The Card will be unveiled and presented at the Serena Senior Fair, Health and Home Expo on July 26th at the Rosarito Beach Hotel. The event includes over 18 exhibitors; many of them are network members of the Full Assistance Card, including Bonanova Hospital, the Tijuana Cardiovascular Institute, Health and Nutrition Clinic, Accura Labs and Imaxess imaging among others. Additional exhibitors will have information on valuable resources including the Foreign Residents Assistance Office (FRAO) from the Rosarito City Government, together with DIF that will have available applications for handicap parking permits, or the United Society of Baja California (USBC) and fellow organizations such as the Volunteers of the Red Cross, with information on many activities and alternatives for helping others.
The event will start at 10 a.m. in the morning; it includes a free Mexican buffet, live entertainment and a raffle at the end of the event at 5 p.m. During the event there will be three very insightful presentations from top physicians in the region including Dr. Clemente Zuñiga, which will talk about preventive steps for a healthier mind and body through aging, also Cardiologist Lorenzo Arce will discuss issues on prevention of heart attacks and Dr. Elias Perales from Bonanova Hospital will discuss issues of general medicine as well as medical resources available in Rosarito.
