Scholl Bros. Bar-B-Que is gaining local popularity among barbecue aficionados and was recently featured in Texas Monthly Magazine.

Scholl Bros. Bar-B-Que, a favorite barbecue joint in Paris, Tex., was recently featured in Texas Monthly Magazine. The monthly magazine provides information on local arts and culture, food, travel, shopping and real estate.

The article, titled "The Top 50 Joints in Texas" features the best barbecue in the greater Texas area. "Eighteen hungry reviewers. 14,773 miles driven/flown. 341 joints visited. Countless bites of brisket, sausage, chicken, pork, white bread, potato salad, and slaw--and vats of sauce--ingested," wrote Texas Monthly staff writers. The magazine provided 50 cities with their best barbecue joints.

Scholl Bros. Bar-B-Que was awarded as Paris' best barbecue. The writer advised readers that the tea, barbecue sauce, rubs and desserts are incredible sweet and should be assumed with caution if you're weary of too much sugar. "When we asked a resident Parisian to impress us, he whisked us away to Scholl Bros. The ribs are prepared in the region's signature style, using a sugary wet rub, in a mesquite-and-pecan-fed gas smoker." Texas Monthly staff writers also raved about the sauce, "A concoction flavored with brown sugar, gave the beef a much-needed boost. If your sweet tooth hasn't fallen out by the end of the meal, invest in a local favorite, Ann Mann's apple fried pie."
