World class custom knifemakers plan to unveil the latest in custom-made knives at the annual Knifemakers' Guild Show. An exciting week-end can be experienced by meeting and discussing, face to face, with the makers who have spent up to a year working on their latest creations.

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) July 18, 2008 -- When purchasing a hand-crafted knife many times it has not been purchased directly from the maker. This is an opportunity to finally meet the knifemakers you have admired for years at the Annual Knifemakers' Guild Show being held in Orlando, FL, August 1 through August 3. What better way to appreciate a beautiful hand-crafted knife than to hold it in your hand, feel the perfect balance, and enjoy the workmanship, the precision ground blade with a mirror finish or the spectacular patterns in a Damascus blade. All this is possible at the annual Knifemakers' Guild Show where famous knifemakers from the United States and 12 other countries will be displaying and selling their latest knife designs.

Four guild members are selected each year to create special knives for the Annual Knifemakers' Guild Show. Marvin Solomon created a drop point hunter with a nickel silver guard and intricately pinned ivory scales. Bill King designed a gentleman's folder with heat colored Damascus bolsters, file work and a mushroom shaped thumb stud inlaid with a ruby. The scales are ivory with colored scrimshaw. Warren Osborne created a gentleman's lockback with Damascus blade and interframe construction. The scales are blacklip mother of pearl into white mother of pearl. Gayle Bradley designed a two blade trapper with double bolsters and oosic scales. Any one attending the knife show will be eligible to win one of these four knives and winners do not have to be present at the drawing.

To show their appreciation for the honorary members the President's Gala will be held on Thursday July 31, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. for the Honorary Members, Guild Members and Associate Members. Honorary Members receive the newsletter published four times a year. They pay no admission fee at the annual Knifemakers' Guild Show and are admitted one hour before the show opens to the public allowing them to see the maker's newest creations first. One new Honorary Member will be selected by random drawing to receive a FREE plane ticket and hotel accommodations for next year's Guild show.
