Leading minds in business education to address prospective MBA candidates at inaugural event in New York City.

We have assembled a team of world-class instructors who will do more than simply shed light on the most important aspects of the core business school subjects

Veritas Prep, a leading GMAT prep and MBA admissions consulting provider, has announced its lineup of academic experts for MBA LaunchPad 2008. The event was created to help prospective MBA candidates learn what to expect in their first year of business school and how to excel once they arrive. Veritas Prep has selected the finest MBA professors from the world's elite business schools, each of whom will share insider advice to help attendees make the most of their business school experience.

The two-day event, to be held August 5-6, 2008 at New York University's Kimmel Center, will showcase academic sessions for each of the core business subjects: accounting, strategy, marketing, operations, economics, and finance. Each session will be conducted by a current MBA professor, including:

  • Paul Zarowin, Professor of Accounting and Charlotte Linder MacDowell Faculty Fellow at the New York University Stern School of Business, whose areas of expertise include financial accounting and the relationship between accounting data and security prices;
  • Kathryn Harrigan, prize-winning author and Henry R. Kravis Professor of Business Leadership at Columbia Business School, whose specialties range from corporate strategy and industry and competitor analysis to diversification strategy, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions; and
  • Jonathan Levav, Class of 1967 Associate Professor of Business at Columbia Business School, whose research focuses primarily on consumer psychology, including preference prediction and probability judgment.

"We have assembled a team of world-class instructors who will do more than simply shed light on the most important aspects of the core business school subjects," explains Chad Troutwine, co-founder and CEO of Veritas Prep. "They will share the best practices of successful MBA students. If those who attend can master what they learn at MBA LaunchPad 2008, they will earn higher grades - dramatically improving their odds for landing a coveted summer associate position. Our graduates will be ahead of the game academically and in the increasingly competitive job market."

In addition to the six academic sessions offered at MBA LaunchPad 2008, the program includes three career panels featuring MBA graduates who landed jobs with top firms in competitive industries, as well as student panels featuring current business school students who will provide insight on maintaining balance in the intense business school atmosphere.

MBA LaunchPad 2008 features experts who will help attendees create a strategic game plan to attain academic excellence, achieve job placement success, and enjoy the most valuable social and professional activities business school has to offer.
