Interior Decorators, interior redesigners, real estate stagers, window treatment professionals and beginning entrepreneurs will descend upon the mountains in Phoenix, Arizona soon in pursuit of discovering more gold in the hot home decorating business. The Society of Decorating Professionals (The SDP) will be holding their annual conference, August 6-8th, at the Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa, to offer attendees an opportunity to rejuvenate themselves and their businesses. This educational and networking conference welcomes both members and non-members.

The SDP conferences are an interesting mix of decorating, interior redesign, staging, business, mentoring and peer support geared to those with a passion for interior decorating. The conference will feature a number of industry related vendors, such as Minutes Matter, Dunn Edwards, Sherwin Williams, BoxProps, Clear Choice Windows, and many more, to help attendees stay on top of trends and new products.

Mary Carol Garrity, called one of the America's hottest retailers by Wall Street Journal, will serve as a keynote speaker. She is the author of "Feather Your Nest", as well as 8 other lifestyle and decorating books. She will share her style of accessorizing, life style tips, and how she built a wildly successful decorating business. Mary's retail store, Nell Hill's, draws over 75,000 visitors a year. Mary's syndicated column is read in newspapers all over the country.

Terri Bowersock, Owner and CEO of Terri's Consignment will share insights and ideas on how to grow successful business. Terri has dealt with many of the adversities that an entrepreneur faces and has gone on to build a consignment store empire. She will also share how consignment shops can be a asset for staging houses on a budget.

The SDP has grown from four women with a vision, to nearly 400 members who share a passion for decorating.

"Our goal," stated Carol Bass, founding member of The SDP, "is to offer an event that will empower entrepreneurs by providing them with tools for success."

The SDP provides decorating professionals with a wide variety of resources and training in many decorating specialties. The organization has 17 Certified Trainers whose experience and knowledge in their respective decorating fields assures both the potential student and client that they will receive the highest degree of education or service.
