StackSafe, Inc., a provider of pre-production staging and testing solutions for IT Operations teams, announced today that the company's president, CEO and founder, Loren Burnett, has been named by the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) to its board of directors. Burnett will serve a three-year term on the board and aid in NVTC recruitment, revenue raising and planning.
"I am honored to have been selected to serve on the NVTC board of directors," said Burnett. "As an active member of the Northern Virginia technology community, I am eager to help further the NVTC's goals of showcasing the region as a major global technology center, fostering collaboration among member organizations and advocating public/private partnerships within Northern Virginia."
Burnett brings over 29 years of management experience to his position on the NVTC Board. Prior to founding StackSafe, he served as COO and CFO of Astral Brands, a consumer brand management company, and oversaw the explosive growth of Astral's revenue base. Prior to joining Astral, Burnett served as the president, CEO, and chairman of the board of Celcorp, a provider of enterprise application integration software and services. He served as senior vice president and CFO at Riptech, where he was instrumental in the company's $145 million sale to Symantec, Inc. in August 2002.
NVTC is the membership and trade association for the technology community in Northern Virginia and is the largest technology council in the nation. NVTC has about 1,100 member companies representing more than 200,000 individuals. Its membership includes companies from all sectors of the technology industry including information technology, software/hardware, Internet, ISPs, telecommunications, biotechnology, bioinformatics, aerospace, and nanotechnology, as well as the service providers that play an important role in supporting these companies.
