Popular Online Cross-Dress Store Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

Genie, The Crossdress Store, founded by Canadian cross-dresser Nicolle Robinson, celebrated its first anniversary with the launch of its new website offering information and support to the cross-dress, transgendered, transsexual and transvestite communities.

Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) July 23, 2008 -- Genie, The Crossdress Store, celebrated its one-year anniversary with the launch of its new website.

Like so many others, owner Nicolle Robinson began the cross-dress journey in her early teens. Throughout the years, she made all the classic moves - collect some clothing, dress when alone, feel guilty and purge. Finally, after years of concern and deceit, the internet offered a way to connect to others in the community and to find clothing and accessories without the potential embarrassment of buying in a public retail store.

"I found myself bouncing from site to site to check out sizing, only to discover the larger sizes needed by our community were virtually non-existent and when I found them, the prices were, well, to say the least, prohibitive," explained Ms. Robinson.

After being frustrated by trying to find clothes and accessories in appropriate sizes, Ms. Robinson opened Genie, The Crossdress Store. The unique environment of EBay, which allowed for discretion and confidentiality, was the perfect opportunity to create a store geared to the needs of the cross-dresser, transgender and transvestite community.

With the new website, Genie continues to use EBay to sell products because of its confidential and discrete structure built around protecting both the buyer and the seller.

"As the new website evolves," Ms. Robinson added, "We hope to be able to offer an environment as secure and confidential. It is important to me that my customers know I respect their privacy. Everything is shipped in discrete packaging with obscure descriptions so no one will get accidentally 'outed'."

The new website includes support information including how-to articles and a forum for the exchange of experiences and ideas.

"The forum is also there for partners of cross-dressers to express their views," Ms. Robinson said. "That's a group that is really under supported."

The new website, www.the-crossdress-store.com, is Canadian-based. "People around the world like doing business with Canadians," Ms. Robinson explained. "Canadians have a reputation of being honest and non-judgmental. It is the perfect environment for the cross-dress store."
