ENSCO today announced that Jonathan S. Spaeth has joined ENSCO as Vice President and General Counsel, reporting directly to ENSCO CEO Paul Broome. "Jon is an excellent addition to our team," said Mr. Broome. "He is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in contracts, compliance, intellectual property, dispute resolution and corporate governance."
Prior to joining ENSCO, Jonathan was a partner at the Washington, D.C. office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where he specialized in complex commercial litigation. In 2006, he joined Raytheon as Senior Counsel where he advised internal business units on a wide variety of issues relating to the company's dealings with the U.S. and foreign governments, compliance with regulatory requirements, and business with domestic and international competitors, partners and consultants. Immediately prior to joining ENSCO, Jonathan was General Counsel of Visual Defence, Inc., a software company headquartered in Toronto.
As ENSCO's General Counsel, Jonathan will be responsible for advising the senior executive team on all company related legal matters, including corporate compliance, risk management, government and commercial contracts, litigation and dispute resolution, labor and employment issues, and internal policies and ethics, as well as a full range of strategic and business initiatives.
Jonathan received his B.A from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the University of Virginia.
