Guitar Center Highlights Popular Boss and Line 6 Effects Pedals

Music gear retailer Guitar Center is featuring the Boss GT-10; Line 6 M13, JM4, and POD X3 Live; and Boss RC-2 guitar effects pedals that provide music artists with tonal options for creating a signature sound.

The Boss GT-10 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal was released earlier this year at NAMM 2008. It builds on the technology of previous models to achieve an improvement in overall sound quality. The EZ TONE wizard was designed to simplify pedal use and sound editing options. It's powered by Boss' proprietary sound-modeling COSM engine, offering a multitude of effects and tones, and has a built-in looper, USB connectivity, and MIDI capability.

New from Summer NAMM, the Line 6 JM4 Looper Effects Pedal provides looping capabilities that allow musicians to layer musical sequences atop one another. Popularized by numerous artists, loop recording enables a musician to become a one-person band. With up to 24 minutes of recording time, the Line 6 JM4 floor unit features 100 jam tracks of drums, basses, and guitars, and a collection of over 200 artist-created presets, vocal effects, over 150 song-based presets, 12 original Line 6 amp models, 7 guitar effects, and 36 banks for saving user-created tones.

Also new from Summer NAMM is the Line 6 M13 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal that combines the effects of 75 guitar effects pedals including distortions, reverbs, filters, delays, tremolos, choruses, echoes, and many more. Musicians can use up to four different sounds simultaneously. Each stompbox model features dedicated knobs to fine-tune the sound and a 28-second looper with dedicated footswitches.

The Boss RC-2 Loop Station Effect Pedal is more compact in size and offers amp and effect models for recording guitar, bass, and vocals. Despite the affordable price, the Boss RC-2 offers 16 minutes of recording time and each layered loop can be stored in one of 11 internal patch preset locations. Other features include a jam-along Rhythm Guide function, Auto Start, Tap Tempo, Loop Quantize, and Undo/Redo functions.

Catering to guitarists, bassists, and vocalists, the Line 6 POD x3 Live incorporates a collection of 78 guitar amp models, 24 guitar cab models, 98 stompbox and studio effects. It also has 28 bass amp models, 22 bass cab models, and six vocal preamp models. The high-end tube mic preamp brings out the natural tone of a musical instrument. POD X3 Live can record two instruments at once and its USB 2.0 connectivity provides multichannel recording capabilities as well as S/PDIF or AES/EBU functionality for sending a direct digital signal to DAWs.
