To guarantee their clients had an easy transition to the new requirement, the medical billing company began proactively informing their nationwide client-base of over 1,550 providers months in advance. The Avisena team created a step-by-step guide on how to register with each payer, and then used their practice management team to validate the payer setup and make corrections when needed. Finally, on NPI D-Day (May 23rd), they dutifully checked that claims were received for every provider/payer combination.
