Summit Healthcare, a leader in enabling system integration for the healthcare industry and provider of healthcare integration products and services, announced recently the latest version of its Summit Scripting Toolkit, SST 08, which has proven successful for many of the company's clients in connecting to the MEDITECH 5.6 and 6.0 Platforms.

The latest version of the Summit Scripting Toolkit is the result of two years of development effort and offers clients deployment of multiple functioning scripts across the hospital setting. The solution has been working in the new MEDITECH 5.6 and 6.0 platform environment for months and, in addition to connectivity, provides even greater reliability and performance.

"Summit Healthcare has been extremely supportive and instrumental in our migration to MEDITECH 6.0," remarked Rick Lang, CIO of Doylestown Hospital, a MEDITECH 6.0 Beta site with which Summit has been working. "The Summit Scripting Toolkit and Summit's professional services division have proven themselves to be invaluable in handling the intricacies of MEDITECH 6.0. As a company they have been excellent, and we value the relationship and expertise of their entire team."

SST 08 will provide both casual end-users and experienced programmers with many new features that increase productivity while maintaining ease of use and reliability. The new product includes the Visual Workflow Builder, which allows users to define logical segments of their workflow and then drill down to individual tasks. At a glance, users can easily understand the intended purpose of the script. These logical segments are 100 percent reusable, thus eliminating time-consuming rework by the user. Scripts are deployed as XML documents, which makes recompiling unnecessary. Another key differentiator is the use of variable controls rather than positional controls, allowing users to capture information on a screen regardless of position, a technology which no other scripting tool leverages.
