HunTel selects Vaonet to manage their complex network of new and legacy equipment spread over 14 communities.

HunTel, a Nebraska telephone and cable service provider, have selected the Vaonet IMPRS Network Management System to monitor their growing network. The complex network of several TDM switches, two VOIP switches, and other data and environmental elements in multiple remote locations makes HunTel a unique challenge. HunTel is the second largest independent telephone company in Nebraska and one of the flagship companies for American Broadband serving in excess of 14,000 lines in 14 communities.

HunTel's goal was to replace the existing management platform that only monitors the Nortel DMS 100 with a management platform that can securely monitor every element in their network. Pat Eudy, American Broadband President and CEO says, "The extensibility of the IMPRS system combined with event management capabilities made the replacement decision very easy. As American Broadband grows we know we have selected a solution that we will grow with us."

Vaonet's secure remote access and access profiles have allowed HunTel to build individual service centers on a single platform. The IMPRS' customizable notification options can provide geographically based event notification. Now, 24 hours a day/7 days a week, response personnel receive the pertinent details required to manage events in their assigned area. In most cases, the underlying issue can then be corrected remotely through the secure remote access included in the Vaonet IMPRS.

Vaonet is the leading provider of end-to-end network management solutions for small and mid-size carriers and enterprises. The company's founders are telecommunications veterans who understand the ever-changing requirements for managing complex networks and recognize the growing need for single source network management. The Vaonet IMPRS product suite is a secure and cost efficient way to monitor multi-vendor networks while enabling carriers to continue to expand locations and services. Vaonet customers receive the benefits of a fully staffed network operations center without the cost.
