Jiangyin Kinematics Machinery Co., Ltd (JKMI) signed an agreement with Jiangyin Local Government on June 28th, 2008 in Shenzhen for a purchase of land about 30 mu (about 20000 square meters) for its new slewing drive manufacturing facility in China. JKMI is a Sino-American branch company in China of US Kinematics Manufacturing Co.
The land will be used to increase JKMI's annual production capacity of its open housing and single self locking hourglass worm shaft slewing drives from current 30,000 to 109,000 units in next year. The slewing drives, with hourglass worm technology, are manufactured for man lifts, truck cranes, oil field equipment, drilling rigs, solar and other alternative energy industries. It is expected that construction of the new facility will be completed in 2009, which will sharpen JKMI's competitive edge among world top five manufacturers of slew drives. The facility will also manufacture dual input slew drives for high torque hydraulic attachment requirements.
The new facility will include four buildings, they are assembly shop, machining shop, office buildings and dormitories for employees living quarters. It is scheduled to start construction in 2008 and complete the first phase early next year for the assembly shop and the dormitories. The second phase shall be completed by the end of 2009 for office building and machining shop.
