Diamond, who speaks English, French and Spanish, created LLE after turning down a low-paying position at an instruction facility teaching French, and was awarded her first government contract in 1981 for language instruction. Since then, LLE has expanded their multilingual support to include 24-hour over-the-phone interpretation, document and email translation, and language fluency testing and proficiency assessment services. To date, LLE supports 150 different languages.
"The impact of immigration has forced organizations to change they way they conduct business and broaden their knowledge of other cultures," continues Diamond. "In the United States, nearly 20 percent of the population is classified as limited English proficient. Both the public and private sectors are continuously examining the way they communicate with their multicultural markets.
