Fitness beverage nominated in the RTD category of the 2008 Bodybuilding.com Supplement Awards

WheyUP, the original protein drink with energy was named a finalist for the prestigious 2008 Bodybuilding.com Supplement Awards. WheyUP was nominated for its innovative product in the "Ready to Drink" (RTD) category.

Each year, Bodybuilding.com recognizes industry leaders who deliver high-quality, effective products. The nominees include leading products in each award category, selected from the 8,000-plus products that Bodybuilding.com carries. Winners will be announced live on the 2008 Mr. Olympia Expo stage. This year's Olympia Weekend will feature Mr. Olympia, Ms. Olympia, Fitness Olympia, Figure Olympia, and others. The event is scheduled for September 25-28 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I am thrilled to be nominated for this award from Bodybuilding.com," said WheyUP's inventor and co-founder Erik Rothchild. "Bodybuilding.com is well respected in the fitness community. The recognition by its panel validates the uniqueness of WheyUP as a fitness beverage that is healthy and functional."

WheyUP represents a breakthrough in the fitness drink market. It combines 20 grams of whey protein isolate with an energy formula in a sugar-free, non-carbonated beverage. WheyUP is sold in ready-to-drink 16-ounce plastic bottles and 12 packs in two flavors: Wild Berry and Tropical Citrus. And coming in the third quarter of 2008 is the new Grape Punch flavor.

The fitness industry recommends consuming a minimum of 20g of whey protein prior to working out. Many individuals are also seeking a boost of energy - whether it's coffee, an energy drink or caffeine pills - to intensify their workout. With WheyUP, getting energized and adding healthy protein to a diet has never been easier.

Whey protein is a natural, high-quality protein from cow's milk. It is a rich source of the essential amino acids needed by the human body on a daily basis. Amino acids are one of the most important elements for the maintenance of good health and vitality. They are the major source of building material for muscles, blood, skin, hair, nails and internal organs, including the heart and the brain.

WheyUP is targeted toward health-conscience individuals and fitness enthusiasts. It is ideal for fat-loss programs, exercise programs, weight-training programs, athletic activities, and as part of a healthy, active lifestyle.
