nSight Establishes Sales and Business Development Group to Expand in IT, Corporate and Publishing Markets

Gaffney will build and lead nSight's new Sales and Business Development Group, established to further the company's growth in the IT, corporate and publishing markets. In addition to the new director, nSight expects to hire two to three additional people in sales and business development roles, according to Thomas E. LeBlanc, president and CEO.

"For many years, nSight has successfully grown its revenues primarily through repeat and referral business, as well as through a number of key long-term partnerships with industry-leading blue chip companies," LeBlanc said. "Now, we are at the point where it makes sense to formalize our sales and business development efforts and be proactive in targeting specific markets where we want to have a greater presence. Sean is a great match for us and he will be the catalyst for our next stage of growth."

Gaffney brings to nSight some 14 years of sales, management and consulting experience in such high-tech areas as wireless technologies, software, outsourced e-business development, business intelligence and electronic data integration. As a sales executive for Inforonics in Littleton, Mass., he was instrumental in helping that professional services organization build its outsourcing e-business consulting services and significantly expand its customer base.

In his new role, Gaffney undoubtedly also will draw upon his entrepreneurial pursuits as cofounder of Mobility Software Inc., which, over a six-year period, he built and managed from idea to reality. In addition, he will draw from his experience as a cofounder of IMSYS Corp., an integration/consulting business in the fields of wireless and security applications. He continues to serve on the IMSYS board.

Gaffney sees his move to nSight as serendipitous, in part because of the company's own entrepreneurial spirit. "nSight has been successful for 26 years with its unique approach to finding solutions for clients in need of communication professionals, trainers or consultants for marketing, documentation, publishing and other print and interactive projects," Gaffney said. "Now nSight management sees opportunities to take this business to the next level, particularly in the high-tech arena where I've built my own career. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to help orchestrate that new business growth--and to grow along with the company."

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts (Lowell), Gaffney also has held sales positions with DNS Worldwide, providers of leading-edge EDI software, and Dimensional Insight Inc., providers of business intelligence tools. He also was the northern New England territory business manager for Intermec, providers of mobile computers and scanners, RFID technology, and Cisco wireless network solutions. He's been a guest lecturer at MIT and the University of Massachusetts and a member of the UMass Chancellor's Partners Society.

Gaffney lives in Amherst, N.H., with his wife and two children. He enjoys coaching and playing baseball, hockey and skiing. He also enjoys motocross and golf, as well as following the local sporting teams.
