WAV, Inc., the value-added distributor of wireless, security, RFID, VoIP and portable data-collection equipment, announced that it has extended its product portfolio by signing a distribution agreement with SkyPilot Networks. Under this new agreement, WAV will now offer SkyPilot's entire line of broadband wireless products to combine a point-to-multipoint base station, a multi-hop wireless relay, and a point-to-point link into a single system for its solution providers.
"SkyPilot has a proven product line and an excellent reputation among service providers as a cost-effective method of deploying long-range and high-capacity wireless," said Norm Dumbroff, president and CEO of WAV, Inc. "SkyPilot's unique backhaul capabilities provide the flexibility that our channel partners need to reach into new markets, and with WAV's portfolio of value-added services, we can provide a total solution to our entire community of wireless and mobile solution providers and value-added resellers (VARs)."
SkyPilot's broadband wireless products enable a wide range of applications, including fixed broadband Internet access, VoIP, video surveillance, and automatic meter reading (AMR). The SkyPilot product line enables WAV to extend its broadband wireless portfolio with a unique solution that can combine a point-to-multipoint base station, a multi-hop wireless relay, and a point-to-point link into a single system.
The SkyGateway and SkyExtender products provide point-to-multipoint to low-cost SkyConnector customer premise equipment (CPE), as well as provide a unique synchronous multi-hop backhaul to extend range and increase capacity. These 5 GHz solutions can also be integrated with long-range Wi-Fi access points at 2.4 GHz for IEEE 802.11b/g and 4.9 GHz for mobile public safety.
"At SkyPilot, we focus on building innovative broadband wireless products and leveraging value-added distributors to provide the full breadth of services required for a total solution," said Paul Gordon, president and CEO of SkyPilot. "For years, WAV has showcased its ability to provide the wireless community with a valuable blend of products and services and we look forward to adding our unique products to the WAV portfolio."
