WeMix.com, the fast-growing, user-generated music creation and record label community for independent artists has partnered with superstar outfielder Torii Hunter of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim to give artists around the country the unique opportunity to showcase their musical creativity and make a difference - in a nationwide songwriting contest in search of the best original theme song made especially for Hunter.
The "WeMix Diamond Cut," contest officially begins on August 1, 2008. WeMix will give one new artist a chance to professionally record their original song about Hunter, which Hunter will use as his official theme when he goes to bat during games. The winning song will also be available for sale via Itunes and a variety of other digital distribution purchase points, including ring-tone providers and in-stadium distribution.

The contest also gives new artists and songwriters the opportunity to make a difference in the community. A portion of the songs' proceeds will go towards the Torii Hunter Project, a national program designed to support youth baseball in inner cities and poor rural communities, regardless of race or ethnicity, with opportunities to learn the game of baseball.
