"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition", the ABC television series, has selected Charlotte's premier home accessories retailer, BLACKLION, as the supplier of Furniture as well as home accessories for the recently announced home to be constructed in Charlotte this week. "This project has come together in an amazingly short period of time", reports Bob Emory, owner of BLACKLION. "As soon as we heard 'Extreme Makeover' was coming to Charlotte, I visited the show's website and offered BLACKLION's full support and willingness to contribute to the project", Emory adds. "This is an honor and rare opportunity for BLACKLION, our management, merchants and staff to contribute to such a deserving family in the Charlotte community."

Emory adds, "I'm sure Extreme Makeover get hundreds of offers to help and after not hearing anything, our leasing director, Mike Berhalter, contacted the builder who connected us with the design team. It has been a whirlwind ever since". After several visits, some as late as midnight with BLACKLION's design team, Nita Emory, Keith Johnson and Bob Little, a large selection of furniture, accessories and home décor has been assembled. The collection has been staged waiting for the show's designer, Michael Maloney to make his final selections. The design team's specific request for furniture, not in stock, at BLACKLION has been ordered from manufacturers to meet the needs for the Charlotte family's new home through our furniture division www.blacklion.com.
"Home accessories were not an issue", says Emory. "With 3 stores in the Charlotte area, we have over 500,000 items to select from. We have over 250 individual merchants who have been enthusiastically donating and supporting this project. This Extreme Makeover project has come together in the midst of an incredibly busy time. BLACKLION is in the middle of an annual Tent Sale and is opening a new store August 1st at Exit 25, off I-77 in Huntersville's NorthCross Shopping Center. "If anyone can do this, we can", says Emory. "We have an incredible staff and group of merchants. Our trucks will go to factories in North Carolina this week and everything will be ready for the installation deadline on Sunday, August 3rd ...Whew!" We hope the King family will love their new home!
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which has won back-to-back Emmy Awards
as Best Reality Program (non-competitive), is in its 6th season on ABC. The program is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. Anthony Dominici is the executive producer; and David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA.
