... but the technology is only a platform to represent the content. It's the content that rules and Dreamarte is adamant that with this Gerstein exhibition it has demonstrated it will continue to host and exhibit the 'cream-of-the-crop'...the best and most provoking art...

Tel-Aviv, Israel (PRWEB) August 5, 2008 -- Dreamarte Gallery and noted Israeli artist David Gerstein have partnered to launch Presenting David Gerstein, an on-line exhibition of a collection of his original works that paint a clear picture of the evolutionary path of many of Gerstein's iconic objects.

Gerstein, who is best known for his colorful replicated steel cutouts, has been painting since he was young. "Since I was a child I wanted to make an object as something tangible to which people can relate, and use painting as a space for depicting (those) objects", he recently said. And painting has been that vehicle for his entire life. Even the replicated steel cutouts, loved and admired the whole world over, all start as hand drawings on paper.

This exhibition, which covers a collection of his original works on canvas and paper from 1991 to the present, depicts the origin of many of the objects that has made him most famous as a pop artist. His love of bicyclists, cows and cats can be found in many of these works demonstrating how they have evolved into iconic status in the world of limited edition wall sculptures.

Dreamarte Gallery worked very closely with Gerstein to develop this unique exhibition utilizing its unique 3D technology. Each work can be closely inspected from any angle and distance. The exhibition can be accessed directly from an on-line catalogue, (or downloadable PDF file for off-line viewing), as well as Dreamarte Gallery's unique Exhibition Showcase.

According to John Pruzanski, the General Manager of Dreamarte, "It's about time we are able to adequately exhibit art on-line. The basic jpg is not a great representation of a painting. We've worked long and hard to find a suitable technology to properly present paintings ... and we believe we've found the perfect answer."

He continued, "It is important that jpgs are able to be represented in a manner and fashion that allows users to inspect the work at close range and at multiple angles. It is also extremely important that the user experience appears seamless...that the work can be viewed through a standard browser utilizing commonplace technologies. We've been able to achieve both objectives. No extraordinary applications or downloads are required. Just the standard Flash-enabled browser...which is basically any and all of them."

But Pruzanski also waxed enthusiastically about the content; " ... but the technology is only a platform to represent the content. It's the content that rules and Dreamarte is adamant that with this Gerstein exhibition it has demonstrated it will continue to host and exhibit the 'cream-of-the-crop'...the best and most provoking art..." he said.
"Gerstein is one of those artists whose works can be found adorning the walls of a fictional character in a Stephen King novel, the homes of Hollywood celebrities … as well as be discussed and debated by all ilk of art critics. It's a great solo exhibition to highlight a 21st century artist in a 21st century form."
