ACT Enhances Its Suite of Discovery Services with Equivio's Near-Duplicate Grouping and Email Thread Analysis Technology

ACT Litigation Services, a leading provider of end-to-end discovery services, is offering its customers a new, value-added service based on Equivio's technology for near-duplicates and email threads.

Valencia, CA (PRWEB) August 5, 2008 -- ACT Litigation Services (ACT), a leading provider of end-to-end discovery services, today announced that it is offering its customers a new, value-added service based on Equivio's technology for near-duplicates and email threads. The Equivio technology will be utilized in conjunction with ACT's electronic discovery and document review service offerings.

"ACT's studies show that 75% to 90% of the all-in cost of discovery comes from document review," said Steve Marks, President and CEO of ACT. "Equivio's technology addresses one of the largest underlying cost components in the review flow."

ACT has integrated Equivio's software for detection and grouping of near-duplicate documents and email threads into its Intelligent Document TriageSM process, which is used to categorize and prioritize large document populations in the discovery phase.

Equivio's ability to group near-duplicates and email threads allows attorneys to skip redundant data. The Equivio technology consistently achieves cost savings in the range of 30% to 50%. In addition, by exposing unique documents, and the unique data in each document, Equivio enhances the findability of data and reduces the risk of missing key information. The Equivio groupings also ensure similar documents are treated consistently.

"The ACT team subjected our technology to a thorough testing and due diligence process," said Amir Milo, CEO of Equivio. "We are delighted and honored that following this comprehensive process, ACT selected Equivio as its technology partner for near-duplicates and email threads."
