'Strawberry Goth' breaks free from hard-core gothic fashion by appeasing the trend with softer lines, dainty trims and a feminine touch devised by a new clothing line from Ichigo Black.'

While most 20-somethings are working starter jobs and dreaming of a brighter future, Sasha Thomas, 22, is launching a second business in three years, Ichigo Black. An alternative clothing company which vamps gothic street fashion with a burst of femininity, coined "Strawberry Goth", Ichigo Black (http://www.ichigoblack.com) will launch in August, 2008.

Though Thomas had been designing apparel to satisfy her love of alternative clothing since high school, the thought of turning it into a business came slowly. "This started out as a hobby, something I loved to do but never really took seriously because I was always told to get a "real job." Thomas shared. "But, I realized designing was my dream and now there is no stopping me."Breaking free from the ideal of a practical college education and career, Thomas stopped studying Psychology to pursue fashion design at the Massachusetts College of Art. "I realized that my love of designing could not be ignored any longer in order to please the people around me."

Mirroring Thomas' desire to be true to the inner passions which lead her into business, Ichigo Black's clothing line represents the freedom to break away from conformity to follow dreams, desires and passions for being different, and achieving something that doesn't always seem practical to everyone else.

Thomas recognized a unique demand among the gothic loving crowd after launching FFB Designs in 2005, her first clothing business ,which offered new flavor to the standard Goth look. "I wanted to give people the opportunity to express themselves through what they wear without following everyone else." Thomas stated. "My clothes aren't the same cookie cutter designs you find at the mall, and never will be."
Riding on the immediate success and popularity of FFB Designs, Thomas created Ichigo Black's more mature clothing line, which brings clothing infused with Japanese gothic Lolita and American street wear trends, but with softer tones from the use of lace, paler colors and feminine details. "I want it to be okay to wear spikes and chains with lace and bows," Thomas offered. With unique East-meets-West styling, Thomas knows fans of alternative clothing will find something personal in Ichigo Black's designs.
