The Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce, which serves the Southwest Michigan Region, announced plans today to hold a new and innovative type of job fair for businesses and job seekers. The job fair, which will be held from 10:00am to 3:00pm EST, September 10th, will be held entirely online.

This electronic job fair, produced in partnership with eJobFairs.net, allows job seekers to interview with employers live, one-on-one, and right from their computers desktop. This innovative method of hosting a job fair will help local employers connect with employment candidates, make the event easier to access for out of town candidates interested in relocating and even reduce carbon emissions by negating the need for either job seekers or employers to drive to an event.

The electronic job fair will be open to Chamber members and non-members to help them with their hiring and recruitment needs. Candidates from the area, or those who are thinking of relocating to the greater Kalamazoo area, will be able to attend this live event from any Internet connected computer. “The Chamber is thrilled to be working with eJobFairs.net to present this cutting edge recruitment technology and service to our members and future members,” says Kalamazoo Chamber Senior Vice President Martin Dodge. “We are also happy to further offer services to the residents and future residents who may be looking for a career change.”

The Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce is the largest private business association in the region, with more than 1,800 member companies. It is a non-profit, voluntary, membership organization which advocates for business, its members range from sole proprietorships to multi-national corporations. The Chamber serves as the collective voice for business on issues affecting business and the Kalamazoo community. Its members are committed to enhancing the local business climate and maintaining a high quality of life in the community. They are able to accomplish together what no one business could do alone.

eJobFairs.net, owned and operated by Complete Career Network Inc., has been developing and conducting the electronic job fair format since early 2005. Offering employers “freedom from the booth”, their software and website allow employers and job seekers to meet online and interview live on specific dates and times for specific areas and industries or demographic interests. “These live and fully interactive job fairs are not virtual. They are real events where job seekers and employers meet and interview one-on-one with each other in real time,” says Jason Vrane, Vice President of Client Relations for Complete Career Network Inc.
