Maggie Valley Club Pushing Forward Phase II Cottage Neighborhood

First phase sold out and pushes phase II speed to increase.

Maggie Valley Club has sold out phase I of its cottage home program. Known as the Cottages at Chestnut Cove, the phase is completely under contract, although a few cottages have yet to be finished.

The success of phase I prompted Maggie Valley Club to push forward with phase II, the Cottages at Sycamore Ridge. Infrastructure work recently began on the second phase, and one reservation is already in place.

"We're accelerating the construction process because of the strong response to the first phase at Chestnut Cove," said director of development Mike Toohey. "We've had a high level of interest."

Like their counterparts, the cottages at Sycamore Ridge will average 2,000 square feet with a craftsman-style design. The cottages are maintenance free, with yard and exterior services provided by the club.

"These units live like a condominium, but are stand-alone structures," said Toohey.

Toohey said one of the main selling points has been the quality of construction. All units have granite countertops, custom cabinetry, hardwood floors, mountain touches, stone fireplaces, large outdoor living spaces, and lofts.

"When families come in, the first thing the kids do is head to the loft," Toohey said.

Sycamore Ridge is expected to do well because of its location on a tract of land providing excellent mountain vistas across the valley. The cottages in phase II start at $499,000 and are a join venture between Maggie Valley Club and Baldwin Logcrafters of Maggie Valley.
