Cassadaga, FL (PRWEB) August 7, 2008
The third annual BodyMindSpirit Festival on Saturday, August 16th from 10 am to 3 pm is a natural for the folks in Cassadaga, Florida. This small community has been home to Spiritualists, Mediums and Healers since it was founded in 1894. Initially a winter retreat for Spiritualists in need of a break from the long, cold winters up north, Cassadaga today is a year-round destination for seekers from around the world. The recent segment on ABC News Nightline and a mention on the upcoming BBC2 series "Around the World in 80 Faiths" highlight just two of the many facets of Cassadaga's appeal.
The body-mind-spirit connection is at the core of the New Age movement, the shift to the holistic approach to health, quantum physics, communication with the "other side" and the resurgence of interest in the paranormal. Oprah Winfrey fuels the acceptance and popularity of this connection every time she hosts Dr. Oz, Louise Hay, Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Christiane Northrup or any of her other guests whose mission is to help others live a happier, healthier life.
It all comes together at the BodyMindSpirit Festival, an all-day event with free admission featuring holistic health products; BioGenesis, Reiki and other forms of energetic healing; Licensed Massage Therapy; authors signing their books and lectures and demonstrations in the Andrew Jackson Davis Building. For many, the path to spirituality, enlightenment and serenity starts with a reading from a certified medium. Cassadaga's Certified Mediums will be offering mini-readings in the Colby Memorial Temple for a donation.
After a fun day of exploring, experiencing and enlightening, Russell "Buddy" Helm will lead a drum circle for all the visitors and participants in the Colby Memorial Temple starting at 4 in the afternoon. Originally built as an auditorium in 1923, Colby Temple has terrific acoustics and can seat 300 with an unobstructed line of sight so this drum circle may give new meaning to "raising the roof".
The Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp offers a variety of workshops, seminars and classes covering a wide range of topics of interest. Information about those, Historical and Orb Tours of the Camp, message services, healing services and more is available in the Welcome Center located in the Cassadaga Bookstore at 1112 Stevens St. (386-228-2880) or on the web at Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp we site and Cassadaga Spiritualist Church web site.
