Appozite, a new social product discovery and shopping company, announces the national release of http://www.zitefight.com. ZiteFight is a fast-paced and engaging style competition that pits user-submitted photos against each other and lets the community vote on which have the best style. In just over a week of limited release ZiteFight.com has already garnered more than 44,000 votes.
ZiteFight is Appozite's first in a set of applications that will make the product discovery process more relevant and interesting for shoppers by leveraging the social layer of the web. Social shopping is a relatively new concept that describes the combination of social networking and shopping, resulting in a collaborative, user-customized, shared shopping experience. The social shopping space is still a small one, but it has experienced significant growth over the past few years. Heather Dougherty, Director of HitWise Intelligence, notes that social shopping sites experienced 447% growth from December 15, 2006-December 15, 2007 (http://weblogs.hitwise.com/heather-dougherty/2007/12/social_shopping_still_small_bu_1.html). In addition, e-commerce sites in general continue to see significant yearly growth in traffic and revenues.
"We think ZiteFight is a great way for people to show their style. We've talked to lots of users during our limited release and they've been very excited to share their photos and their own definition of style," said Founder and CEO Hayes Davis. "It also helps that ZiteFight is a lot of fun. We're thrilled to get so many votes and we've got big plans for the future."
Appozite is dedicated to helping people discover products that fit their style.
