Abacus Van Hire announce their 'swap & drop' service, allowing commercial vehicles from their hire fleet to be loaned out whilst the customers normal vehicle is undergoing a service, MOT or maintenance so the business is not without transport.

Our aim is to reduce the inconvenience that the loss of a vehicle has on a business.

Abacus Van Hire, the Dorset based vehicle hire specialist, has launched a new commercial vehicle service called Swap & Drop. When a van or truck requires service, MOT prep, maintenance or repair a replacement vehicle from the hire fleet can be delivered and swapped so that a business is not without transport whilst the Abacus team of technicians and mechanics work on the vehicle. Dave Wolfenden, Managing Director at Abacus, says that the new Swap & Drop service is available to businesses within a 20 mile radius and that a 20% discount on their daily hire tariff is offered.

"We are now able to expand the Swap & Drop service that until now has been limited to a select number of our blue chip account customers using our Whilst Hiring package, and Fleetcare system for businesses that do not have their own transport managers," said Dave Wolfenden. "Our aim is to reduce the inconvenience that the loss of a vehicle has on a business."

Over the last 5 years Abacus has seen maintenance demand from outside their own fleet of 300 cars, vans, trucks and motorhomes take 40% of the man hours within their modern maintenance and bodywork facility. The company also supports national contract hire groups as a registered hire and maintenance provider.

Founded in 1987, Abacus the £3.75 million turnover hire specialist now employs 27 personnel with a fleet of 300 vehicles. The company not only provides daily hires, contract hire and sales for cars, vans, trucks (including tractor units) motorhomes and trailers, but extensive vehicle maintenance and bespoke body building facilities.
