siteZen Breaks With Traditional Site Builder Pricing, Licensing

siteMagix, maker of the siteZen web-site builder, announces that it is dramatically shifting away how site builders are licensed to decicated server resellers and datacenters. The new licensing program mirrors successful practices from the web server control panel market with deep reseller discounts and licenses that be "recycled" when customers end their web server leases.

siteMagix, maker of the popular siteZen web-site builder, announced that it is breaking with traditional site builder market sales practices to better serve dedicated server resellers and datacenters. Today, the company announced a new Dedicated Reseller Program. The new program mirrors the successful practices of the web server control panel market: deep discounts and licensing flexibility tailored to dedicated server resellers, along with a dedicated sales team.

siteMagix' formula reflects the succesful practices in the web host control panel market. Not only does the company offer significant discounts on the purchase of site builder licenses, but most importantly the licenses can be reused when dedicated reseller's customers terminate their leases or change servers. Another lesson learned from the control panel market is to offer resellers significant discounts without requiring them to commit to purchasing large numbers of licenses. As part of the dedicated reseller program launch, siteMagix is temporarily offering further reductions of its usual commitment levels to new resellers.

The siteZen web site builder has been a popular choice for several years among web-hosting companies, with thousands of servers running siteZen. Such licenses are typically purchased directly from siteMagix because only a relatively small number of resellers currently offer site builders as a pre-loaded option. Web hosting companies would typically prefer to lease software pre-loaded on servers from their dedicated server reseller because leasing requires no up-front investment and setup is handled by the reseller.

John Desrosiers, director of siteMagix reseller licensing program, explains that "Dedicated resellers are focused on operating their datacenters as cost-effectively as possible, while marketing them to sophisticated business customers. Efficiency is key. The software they resell needs to be easy to buy, install, operate and manage for them to stay competitive. Traditional site builder licensing programs didn't work well for them. Our feedback from dedicated resellers indicates that our new dedicated reseller program now meets those business and operational needs head-on."

siteMagix' dedicated reseller program will enhance its regular marketing programs -- not replace them. The company remains committed to licensing siteZen directly to web-hosting companies, and to continually enhancing its product. Most recently, the company added four e-commerce options to siteZen.
