Method123 Ltd announced today that they have released a new suite of project management tools for a project manager.
The tools allow users to create project management methodologies and a project management process for projects. The release of the new tools coincides with the production of a server version of their Professional edition software, allowing companies to jointly use a project management methodology for projects.
"For the first time, users can download and install a customizable framework for managing projects," says Craig Nicholson, Technical Director. "The framework allows the user to upload all of their existing corporate processes, documents and checklists for projects and link them together to create their own project management methodology. Not only can they create a customizable methodology for managing projects, but they can also choose processes from the existing methodology included, and merge those processes with their own."
The software already comes with a complete project management methodology for managing projects. This methodology was created over a number of years and has been fully aligned with the worldwide project management standards for project management: Prince2 and PMI.
In the latest release of this software, a suite of tools have been created specifically to allow a user to generate project management methodologies of their own. A user can create a brand new methodology, import their internal corporate methodology, or use and customize the methodology included. The software, branded as "MPMM" stands for the "Method123 Project Management Methodology" and is downloadable from MPMM.com in three different editions.
The Educational edition allows students and lecturers to teach and learn best practices in project management. It is a cut down version of the methodology, focusing on small projects. The Standard edition is focused on delivering medium sized projects and is targeted at project managers and teams. The Professional edition is targeted at project management professionals and comes with all of the project management tools just released.
More than 150,000 people in 80+ countries are using the project management life cycle included in MPMM. The life cycle takes users through the process of delivering a project, step-by-step.
"Project Managers face a high degree of risk when delivering a project," says Nicholson. "They have to complete a large number of tasks typically within a short period of time and with a limited number of resources. Using MPMM Professional, they can quickly create a step-by-step approach to delivering their projects from the outset. This saves them time, because they have a plan of attack that is based on best practices before they kick off. Their entire team know what the steps are that need to be taken to deliver the project successfully and the sponsor has a high degree of confidence that all of the right processes needed to manage the project are in place. As a builder can't do without their toolbox, a project manager can't do without their methodology toolkit."
In the coming months, Method123 are releasing new versions of their methodology software that make it even easier for a project manager to deliver their projects successfully. The new features coming up include the ability to automatically generate project plans based on the size and type of project, the management of multiple methodologies at the same time and the handling of multiple user accounts.
