Calling all Crock Pot Cooks: Submit your favorite crock pot recipe for your chance to win.

Crock Pot Cooks -- Submit your favorite crock pot recipe at for your chance to win.

When home cook Lisa Paterson along with her husband Neil started their crock pot recipe website in 2004, she never dreamed it would someday become one of the most popular crock pot sites on the web. And today she is starting a new era by launching a crock pot recipe contest.

Lisa, known as "The Crock Cook," is very proud of the fact that all their recipes are unique and have been cooked and tasted by her and Neil (plus friends and family along the way).

"I always found it frustrating to cook a recipe only to find it did not work," says Lisa. Pointing out this was her inspiration for starting in the first place.

Originally, all the recipes were their own. But in the last year they have opened the doors to readers to allow them to submit their own recipes. However, they must be "recipes they have cooked and they must be delicious", Lisa confirms. "We are looking for those tried and tested, family favorite slow cooker recipes."

And now, they have decided to take it a step further by turning it into a competition. "There are heaps of great cooks out there. You don't need to be a chef or an expert to create a fantastic family meal in the crock pot" Lisa said. "And here is a way for them to share their experiences and tastes with everyone else, with the added benefit of winning a prize."

The crock pot recipe competition is open to anyone to enter as long as the recipe is delicious and they have personally cooked and/or tasted it. All suitable recipes will be published and the winning recipes will be judged on ease of preparation, creativity, anticipated appearance and taste.

The contest will be held every month and this month's prizes consist of 2 x $50 gift vouchers. For full details go to:
