Playa Xpu-Ha, Mexico (PRWEB) August 11, 2008 - The traditional American holiday of Thanksgiving is celebrated Italian-style at Esencia, the Riviera Maya estate owned by Italy's Duchess d'Ferrari.

In the time-honored spirit of abundance and celebration with family and friends, the Riviera Maya estate, Esencia, is serving its Thanksgiving Day feast family-style at long tables with dishes presented on large platters on the estate's beachfront garden area.

On the menu are the Duchess's favorite Italian specialties including Polenta Timballini Casserole, Pasta with Caribbean Reef Lobster and Yucatan Zucchini, and a Chocolate and Ricotta Pudding, all accompanied by fresh rustic breads baked on-site in a wood-fire brick oven.

The meal is $90 USD per person, and served at 7 p.m.

Rates start at $525 per night for suites at the Riviera Maya estate. Two-story cottages, perfect for families, are $1,650 per night and may be enjoyed as a private beach house staffed by Esencia's butlers, housekeepers and chefs de cuisine. For Riviera Maya reservations, call 877-528-3490.

About Esencia Estate
The 50-acre Riviera MayaEstate, located on Playa Xpu-Ha on a two mile stretch of fine white-sand beach 46 miles south of Cancun, is the essence of simplicity, elegance and beauty. Its 29 spacious suites and cottages resemble a private beach house and include a range of features from private gardens to solariums and deep-soaking plunge pools. The Riviera Maya Estate is operated by ProHotel International of Houston, which also operates the celebrated La Pleta by Rafael Hotels in the Spanish Pyrenees and Casanova by Rafael Hotels in Barcelona, Spain.

The Dining Room
Our dinner menu specializes in Meso-American cuisine, using traditional Yucatecan methods such as banana-wrapped fish and meat cooked in a pib (an earth oven). The menu showcases the freshest local seafood as well as dishes from the rest of Mexico, all flavored with organic herbs and fresh fruits and vegetables. The ambience combines Mexican flair and rustic simplicity, with its palapa roof and view of a cenote, an illuminated underground fresh water pool.

The Duchess's Spiritual and Relaxation Area
Fully organic from its architecture to its products, the Duchess's oasis harvests its own lush herb garden for indigenous fruits, plants and herbs to use in treatments such as the lemon ritual for energy, honey ritual for relaxation and chocolate ritual for stress-reduction. Five treatment rooms, four Jacuzzis, two Mayan-style domed steam rooms and a beachside Temazcal Mayan Sauna are also available. Complimentary group yoga and meditation classes are offered with an instructor in the main house terrace or garden area.
