Camp Bow Wow® Tonawanda swings open its doggy doors - set up a free interview for your pup today.

Tails began wagging on August 8th, when Camp Bow Wow® opened for business in Tonawanda, New York. Dogs and their two-legged guardians are invited to visit the premiere doggy day care and overnight boarding camp located at 231 Grand Island Blvd. Tonawanda, NY, conveniently located right next to the I-190 thruway at the Kenmore / Sheridan exits. Pups are invited to come in and experience an entirely new concept in doggy day and overnight care.

Camp Bow Wow® has a lot to offer to their furry friends. Its upscale environment enables pooches All Day Play, Snooze The Night Away® while receiving lots of love and attention. Camp Bow Wow® Tonawanda features a state of the art facility that sets it apart from competing doggy boarding centers. The camp-themed décor creates the feel of a cozy mountain lodge, and our live Camper Cams® allow owners to remotely watch their beloved pooches play all day. Certified Camp Counselors® are always present at camp, and Camp Bow Wow® offers the leading staff-to-dog ratio. The camp has three spacious climate controlled indoor play areas and three outdoor play yards. The outdoor play yards are equipped with shade structures and doggy pools to keep pups cool during the hot summer days.

This doggy day care is just different. For one thing, there's the all day play. Instead of spending most of the day in a cage, with minimal walks, dogs that visit Camp Bow Wow® enjoy most of their time (whether it's for day camp or boarding) playing in one of six large indoor/outdoor play areas. "During the day, campers can spend most of their time outdoors playing with their four-legged friends," says owner Mark, who owns the camp with his wife Nanette. "At Camp Bow Wow® our day campers find themselves exhausted by the end of the day when their guardians come to pick them up. The guests who stay overnight are given a tasty campfire treat just before being tucked into their own private and spacious cabin." The facility is completely climate-controlled to maintain maximum doggy comfort throughout the day and night, and all cabins come complete with a cozy fleece-lined cot.

Another unique quality of the camp is that Certified Camp Counselors® monitor the pooches all day and adhere to a strict camper-to-counselor ratio for dog safety purposes. All counselors are trained in dog behavior, safety, and health management, including CPR and First aid training. Camp Bow Wow® knows how dogs play and interact, so all sizes and types of pups are kept very yappy. As an additional safety measure, large and small doggies play in separate areas.

Mark and Nanette are ecstatic about opening a Camp Bow Wow® in Tonawanda. Mark is currently a Business Applications Analyst and Nanette is a Controller. "We had talked about opening a business together but had never found one that was a good fit. When we came across Camp Bow Wow on the internet, we felt we had finally found our match. Once we traveled to Boulder to learn more about Camp Bow Wow, we were sold. We especially liked the Foster Dog program and how Corporate encourages each location to take part in dog related charitable events," said Mark and Nanette.

Camp Bow Wow® Tonawanda will be hosting a VIP (Very Important Pooch) event on August 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. This is the perfect opportunity for local businesses owners and invited guests to meet the staff, take a tour of the camp, and enjoy a little wine and cheese while networking and enjoying the new facility. The ribbon cutting at the VIP party will be a great opportunity to take photos and participate in welcoming the new business into Tonawanda.

There are a few requirements to be a camper and it all starts with the free interview day. The interview is a meet-and-greet with dogs of similar size and temperament, and both Mark and Nanette advise owners to leave their pooches for the full day. "Basically, it's a free day of camp and we get to know our future guests on a first-name basis," says Nanette. Before coming in for an interview, all campers must be spayed/neutered and up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccines.
