Impact Unlimited, a leading provider of brand communications for events, meetings, and exhibits worldwide, will host more than 90 meeting and event professionals at their Annual Summer Symposium on August 21 at the Princeton Marriott Hotel & Conference Center at Forrestal in Princeton, N.J. Entitled Re:Think 08, Impact Unlimited's annual event offers brand, marketing, and convention managers an opportunity to look beyond conventional approaches to creating successful meetings, exhibits, and events in today's complex and competitive environment.
"This year's event truly is exciting. Based on feedback from previous attendees we've developed a new format infused with networking and cutting edge technologies," said Ken Payne, President of Impact Unlimited. "In addition, we've added in-depth breakout sessions on timely industry topics, and incorporated interactive sessions with our featured expert speakers. This new format will increase networking opportunities for our attendees while still providing valuable insight and fun learning experiences that brings attendees back year after year."
This year's theme, "Making Effective Teams / Making Teams Effective" will emphasize leveraging individual strengths to create successful teams and achieve common goals. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and will feature presentations from renowned creative thinkers including Chuck Martin, author of Smarts: Are We Hardwired for Success and Scott Belsky, Founder and CEO of Behance, LLC and creator of the "Action Method: Making Ideas Happen." Martin's and Belsky's presentations will address various aspects of effective team building with a focus on the events business. In addition to interactive workshops and trend stations highlighting new technologies and trends in the world of events and exhibits, this year's program also features two distinct breakout sessions focusing on critical topics to attendees and the industry.
During the event, Impact will be incorporating high-tech identifier devices from nTAG, a leading provider of real-time technology and services for face-to-face events. In a series of breakout networking sessions, Re:Think attendees will use their nTAG devices to seek out people with shared characteristics as well as individuals who share their newly identified "Executive Skills" outlined by Chuck Martin during his presentation, "Hardwired for Success."
Impact has made substantial efforts to increase their Green initiatives and strategies at this year's event eliminating their printed information binders from the past and providing all of the session's information on-line via a separate event Web site at http://www.impactunlimited.com/rethink08. Recycled carpet, LED lighting and displays made of natural and recycled materials will also be integrated into the event.
Tying into the underlying Green theme, one of Impact's breakout sessions will be entitled "Green My Event," which will feature an interactive workshop focusing on what companies can do today to implement Green strategies at meetings and events as part of their overall branding efforts, as well as to plan for a greener future. Impact's other breakout session, entitled "PhRMA 2009 - Now What?", will feature an interactive discussion on new PhRMA rules for 2009 and their implications for marketers and event professionals.
