Aperture Nature Photography Workshops Launches Nationwide Photo Contest

Participants will shoot for more than $100,000 worth of prizes in a photo contest. Winners will travel to US National Parks with established pros, work with Apple's Aperture software and win photo-related prizes from other sponsors.

Gig Harbor, WA (PRWEB) August 18, 2008 -- Aperture Nature Photography Workshops is looking for 16 lucky amateur photographers with a passion for nature photography. In order to find these photographers, ANPW is running a contest. The winners will join 16 established professional shooters at America's most beautiful natural locations.

The Aperture Nature Photography Workshops will provide an all-expense-paid trip to one of four nature photography workshops where they will partner with top pros to learn how to take stunning nature photos and edit them using Apple's Aperture software.

Having taught photography classes, I know this experience will be really special
Professional photographers will select the winners. Over the course of a year, 16 amateur photographers will be selected -- four to attend each workshop. The contest opens on August 15, 2008 at Noon, PST and closes September 5, 2008 at 5:00 PM, PST and can be entered at http://www.photrade.com/contest/aperturenatureworkshops. Additional details about the contest can be found at http://aperturenatureworkshops.com.

"Having taught photography classes, I know this experience will be really special," said Steve Simon, award-winning photojournalist and one of the professional photographers teaching the workshops. "When you combine a photographic passion which we all possess, add a software program like Apple Aperture, that I truly believe can make you a better photographer -- and teach/shoot in some of the most beautiful locations in America -- you have all the ingredients for a life-changing experience."

Contest winners and their professional teachers will receive a prize package from all the sponsors including:

1 USB Drobo from Data Robotics - approximate value $500
1 Lensbaby Lens from Lensbabies - approximate value $350
1 Premium subscription to lynda.com - value $375
1 set of all current Peachpit Press Photo-related books - approximate value $500
1 ThinkTank 360 Photo Bag from ThinkTank Photo - approximate value $350
1 Copy Apple Aperture 2.1 from Apple - approximate value $200
1 Lifetime Pro Membership to Photrade - approximate value $500

In addition, the contest sponsors will be providing lodging, ground transportation, food, park admission and instruction to the amateurs bringing the total value of goods and services committed to this project to more than $100,000.00!

The photo contest will be hosted on Photrade's new photo contest platform, which requires only a few clicks to create or enter a contest. Photrade recently launched the new contest platform that allows anyone to set up a contest, create rules, allow voting or judging and give out prizes.
