CMC Markets Plc ("CMC") the leading global provider of retail derivatives, is set to open an office in Dublin on Thursday February 28 th as the company continues to expand across the globe. Located on Upper Hatch Street, the office will act as a national centre for CMC Markets' education program, hosting a comprehensive series of in-house seminars and one-on-one training sessions for existing and prospective clients alike. Furthermore, the office will also coordinate an ongoing series of educational events that will be taking place across the country.

CMC Markets will initially be offering Contracts for Difference (CFDs) to the Irish market, including the revolutionary fixed risk account. Unlike the products that have been available historically, this innovation ensures that the maximum downside exposure clients can incur regardless of market conditions is limited to their funds on deposit. In the coming months, CMC Markets will also be offering its portfolio of financial spread betting products through the Dublin office.

Patrick Latchford, UK and Ireland Managing Director at CMC Markets, commented:

"CMC Markets prides itself on consistency; consistently tight spreads, a robust trading platform and margin rates that rarely change. It's because of attributes like this that we already have a growing number of clients in Ireland, and contrary to some recent opinions, there continues to be a keen appetite for our products here. In establishing a local presence we will be aiming to build an even greater awareness of the company and the products we offer with a wide range of retail investors."

Retail derivatives - including CFDs and Financial Spread Betting - offer a number of invaluable benefits for investors who wish to actively engage with financial markets, including the ability to short sell to profit from falling markets. The popularity of these products continues to grow globally each year as clients learn more about their flexibility, the favourable tax status and the wide range of markets that are accessible by using such instruments.

Declan Bourke, CMC Markets Country Manager for Ireland, added:

"Through the education programme CMC Markets will be offering and its comprehensive range of products such as the fixed risk account, the company will genuinely be able to promote the benefits of CFDs - and in due course financial spread betting - right across the active Irish investment community. By managing risk appropriately, these products aren't just for a niche audience but allow any investor to participate efficiently in an unprecedented range of financial markets."

CMC Markets has invested over $100m in its multi-award winning trading platform - MarketMaker. Through this, clients can trade either via a desktop application, a web-based interface or over a growing number of mobile phones. Quoting up to 20 million live prices each day, MarketMaker comes complete with news feeds, charting packages and access to a comprehensive suite of risk management tools. With access to over 3,000 different instruments, including equities, commodities, treasuries and forex, clients can trade on 20 of the world's largest financial markets all from a single CMC Markets account.

A launch event will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday 28 th February at the Upper Hatch Street offices. Journalists interested in attending this, or wanting to arrange an individual briefing earlier in the day should contact Tony Cross on the number below to make the relevant arrangements.
