CERTPOINT, a leading global provider of corporate training software and solutions, has signed a contract to implement and host a learning management solution for the Texas Principal Excellence Program (TxPEP). This educational improvement effort by TxPEP will grant 500 principals in the state of Texas access to CERTPOINTVLS™. Through the use of CERTPOINT’s fully-integrated learning management suite, the principals in the program will have access to competency planning tools, a range of leadership and management coursework, and on-line collaboration opportunities to facilitate the growth of their leadership skills.

Using CERTPOINTVLS™, CERTPOINT’s all-in-one learning management suite, TxPEP will manage, schedule, deliver, and track the training of principals in the program using “state-of-art” authoring tools, reporting components, informal learning utilities, and integrated communication tools which can be used on major web conferencing platforms. The TxPEP leadership team recognized the possible value provided to its stakeholders and participants through the implementation of a learning management system, specifically one offering flexibility, course authoring and delivery and, robust reporting capabilities. As such, TxPEP selected CERTPOINT as its solution provider based on the quality of its applications and its superior customer service reputation.

“Having reviewed a range of proposals from potential learning management system (LMS) vendors, CERTPOINT was our clear winner. CERTPOINT’s technology provides functionality that will benefit our program participants with the added benefits of configuration options allowing us to customize the look and feel of it. Finally, the implementation approach and timeline were very important to us since our resources are limited and our implementation timing is tight. We felt that CERTPOINT’s approach would ensure success for us,” said Greg Higgins, TxPEP Project Director.

The Texas Principal Excellence Program is a state-sponsored program that was established to produce improvements in student achievement, graduation rates, and teacher retention in Texas public schools through the development of principal leadership and management skills. TxPEP was created and implemented through a partnership between the American Productivity & Quality Center (APQC) and the University of Houston-Victoria, School of Business Administration and is funded by a grant from the Texas Education Agency.
