Troy, AL (PRWEB) August 20, 2008 -- Troy University announces TROY Global Campus the new name for its administrative unit that encompasses more than 60 teaching sites, TROY eCampus and international initiatives. Formerly University College, TROY Global Campus serves non-traditional students who want to pursue higher education through flexible programs and courses.

TROY Global Campus students are provided with high-quality undergraduate and graduate degree programs through three main options.

TROY Global Campus is headed in an exciting direction: this new name is only the beginning
1. TROY sites offer students the traditional option of taking courses face-to-face.
2. TROY's eCampus serves students who desire to take all of their courses on-line.
3. A combination of both online and face-to-face classes is also an option for TROY students.

In addition to offering traditional degree programs, TROY Global Campus also provides the opportunity to complete non-degree certification programs and seminars. These programs include certifications such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) for the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).

"TROY Global Campus is headed in an exciting direction: this new name is only the beginning," said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Chancellor of Troy University. "We take great pride in dedicating ourselves to providing higher education services across more than a dozen times zones while adapting to fit the needs of our students."

TROY Global Campus is maintaining TROY's internationalization initiatives through educating international students, coordinating student study abroad programs, English as a Second Language (ESL) programs and faculty exchange programs, both in Alabama and internationally.

TROY Global Campus arranges its courses to meet the needs of adults who work full-time or who are prone to short-notice moves, specifically members of the armed forces. Serving the military for over 50 years, TROY Global Campus works closely with military bases to provide undergraduate and graduate degrees locally.

Troy University, a regionally accredited institution, offers academic programs on four campuses in Alabama and on more than 60 military bases and civilian sites in 15 states and 11 countries around the world. Troy University offers associate, bachelor's, master's and education specialist degrees and is dedicated to student preparation in the fields of education, arts and sciences, fine arts, business, communication, applied science, nursing and allied health services. Troy University serves more than 30,000 students worldwide. The campus in Troy serves students from 50 U.S. states and 60 foreign nations.
