Keener Technologies of Honolulu is deploying high-performance, remotely-managed Qorvus wireless CCTV surveillance networks throughout the Hawaiian Islands, resulting in outstanding system reliability, data throughput, image quality, and costs.

When you've done as many large-scale CCTV installations as we have, you really value things like long-term reliability, responsive real-time technical support, and especially the wireless bandwidth to handle all those video streams without drop-outs. Qorvus gives us all of that and much more.

Keener Technologies of Honolulu, HI, and Qorvus Systems of Vancouver, WA, are rolling out high-performance Qorvus outdoor wireless CCTV networks in multiple locations throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Projects completed within the last twelve months include Hawaii Superferry in Oahu and Maui, the Hale Koa hotel in Waikiki, and the Kaha Lani resort in Kauai.

Tom Keener, President of Keener Technologies, says, "Our larger surveillance installations often require wireless because burying cable is impractical or cost-prohibitive. Qorvus was strongly recommended to us by another mainland CCTV integrator, and I have been really impressed with the cost savings, ease of installation, wireless range, and amazing performance we've been able to offer our customers using the Qorvus technology."

Mr. Keener added, "When you've done as many large-scale CCTV installations as we have, you really value things like long-term reliability, responsive real-time technical support, and especially the wireless bandwidth to handle all those video streams without drop-outs. Qorvus gives us all of that and much more."

Rodney Weaver, IT Director for Hawaii Superferry, said, "We've been exceptionally pleased with Keener Technologies' and Qorvus Systems' performance as vendors, and definitely look forward to a continued relationship at our existing ports and at our planned new service locations."

Qorvus QnodeJr™ outdoor wireless nodes are equipped with dynamic routing and automatic detection and configuration of attached IP cameras, resulting in a greatly reduced learning curve and setup time during installation. Featuring a range of up to 20 miles and net data throughputs of up to 35 mb/s, the equipment is pre-configured at the factory, and shipped with all needed wireless accessory items for plug-and-play installation at the client's facility.

Tom Sharples, Qorvus' President, said, "We couldn't be happier with the fantastic, professional job that Keener Technologies has been doing in bringing our industrial CCTV and wireless networking technologies to the Hawaiian Islands. We always enjoy new challenges, and I've been delighted with the results, especially given the hostile industrial marine environment we faced at the ports of Honolulu and Maui."

Qorvus offers a variety of outdoor industrial wireless networking solutions featuring the Qcode™ mesh system. These products include the QnodeJr™ family of outdoor industrial mesh routers, Qcell™ cellular repeater systems, and the MeshCam™ IP wireless camera systems that provide remote video internet surveillance, perimeter security and support for portable wifi applications.
