Lexington, MA (PRWEB) August 25, 2008
B*tween Productions, Inc., home of the Beacon Street Girls®, today announced that the Beacon Street Girls book series has for the first time been translated into another language. Editora Fundamento has translated the first two books of the popular tween series into Portuguese and released the books in Brazil.
Editora Fundamento is one of the fastest growing publishers in Brazil. The company produces a wide variety of books, both fiction and nonfiction, and has translated many other American children's books, such as Emily Rodda's Deltora series and R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series.
"We are excited to be launching the Beacon Street Girls as we strongly believe it will be an immediate hit among Brazilian young teenagers. The characters and the situations they face can fit anywhere in the world. And that is the power of the stories," says Mauro Halfled, CEO of Editora Fundamento.
"The Beacon Street Girls have gone global," said Addie Swartz, CEO of B*tween Productions. "The books are following the lead of our Web site, which has visitors from around the world. Often girls meet the BSG online and only later realize that there are books too. Brazil is the first of many new book markets for us."
The Beacon Street Girls Web site, http://www.BeaconStreetGirls.com , hosts visitors from 174 countries, including Brazil. This partnership will provide these visitors with access to the Beacon Street Girls stories in their native language, increasing reading comprehension and enjoyment and allowing Brazilian readers to more closely identify with the characters.
B*tween Productions recently launched a new safe social networking site which allows girls ages 9-13 to satisfy their ever-growing need to create and communicate with each other. Girls decorate and personalize their own virtual locker, join clubs and teams, and make new friends from all over the world, all in a safe, protected environment designed to embody all the fun of a virtual junior high.
