Loaner cars can become a real bottleneck in the dealership, increasing administrative expenses and reducing profits

UDC, the nation's leading high line retail automotive software, training and consulting firm, today announced it has completed integration of TSD's LOANER Management Software with Revolution, UDC's advanced service CRM, and Virtual Service Assistant (VSA), the company's online service scheduling tool for auto retail clients. TSD is the industry's top provider of rental and loaner management software and solutions.

The new interface gives UDC's Revolution dealer clients full control over their loaner fleet, including the ability to quickly and easily complete loaner applications, check loaner availability and reserve loaner units for customers. It also allows customers to request a loaner vehicle while scheduling a service appointment online, and complete the necessary paperwork right from their desktop.

"Loaner cars can become a real bottleneck in the dealership, increasing administrative expenses and reducing profits," said Hans Van Order, CEO of UDC. "TSD is a market leader in loaner management software. With this new interface, Revolution clients can take advantage of their state-of-the-art technology to streamline their loaner processes, which will result in big cost savings."

TSD's LOANER Management Software has been seamlessly integrated into Revolution, allowing dealers to quickly process loaner applications using a single screen to enter data. All customer data is retained, and immediately available the next time a loaner is needed. Revolution users can use the system to easily check loaner availability, as well as schedule loaner units for customers. Open agreements can also be tracked, so that overdue vehicles can be identified and returned to the dealership.

The integration of TSD's LOANER Management Software into UDC's Web-based Virtual Service Assistant let's customers request a loaner while setting a service appointment. Users complete the loaner application online, insuring that the loaner is available and ready for pick-up the day their vehicle is brought in for servicing.

Customer loaner requests and information input into the online scheduler immediately appears in Revolution, and is automatically transferred to the dealers ADP or Reynolds and Reynolds Dealer Management System (DMS), eliminating the need for multiple data entries on different systems and significantly reducing administrative time spent on loaner management.

Several detailed loaner reports can be generated, providing dealers with all they information they need to effectively manage their fleet. They include:

  • Available Loaners -- Current units available with details on length of time each loaner has been idle on the lot.
  • Loaners Due In -- The date/time loaners are expected back with customer contact information to manage the return
  • Service Writer Activity -- Number of units out for each Service Writer and the average number of days loaned.
  • Fleet Utilization -- Detailed information on fleet utilization with date range and sort criteria options.
  • Fleet Maintenance -- Review maintenance for entire fleet at a glance. Receive system notifications when a vehicle is due for maintenance and flags for inspection sticker and plate expirations.

"UDC has done a fantastic job with this integration," said Bill Mirabile, vice president of sales and marketing for TSD. "The interface has resulted in a cradle to grave solution that encompasses all aspects of the loaner management process."

Revolution is a next generation service CRM that links the customer relationship process to capacity management. Features include real-time appointment setting, facilitation and detailed management of client follow-up, advanced marketing tools, detailed reporting that ensure accountability, seamless online Web-based service scheduling, and ADP and Reynolds and Reynolds Dealer Management System (DMS) integration.
