PlateScan Announces "Everywhere" the License Plate Recognition that Every Law Enforcement Agency Can Now Afford

This new, powerful and very affordable package combines the fully featured PlateScan LPR software, installed on most existing in-car laptops or MDCs, attached to either one or two powerful and versatile color video cameras optimized for LPR. It can be installed permanently or can be made for portable use. Pricing starts at under $4,500.

Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) August 27, 2008 -- Today, PlateScan, Inc., a worldwide leader in automatic license plate recognition (LPR) technology has announced the PlateScan "Everywhere", the most affordable LPR system available.Every license plate scanned by the PlateScan Everywhere system is date, time and GPS encoded (when a GPS device is deployed). All this data can be very quickly downloaded manually or wirelessly to a single departmental server, where it can be mapped, searched and analyzed using the PlateScan Connect back office suite of data analysis tools.

"Since more vehicles can be equipped with LPR technology," said Bob Pinzler, PlateScan's VP of Sales and Marketing, "more information can be loaded into the back office, thus giving detectives and crime analysts more information to work with in solving crime."

Since more vehicles can be equipped with LPR technology
Included in the standard Everywhere package are:

  • PlateScan Software
  • PSC-C2 color camera(s)
  • Camera mount(s) and cables
  • GPS
  • Camera interface module(s)
  • PlateScan Connect data analysis software

All license plates captured by the cameras are immediately compared to multiple hot lists of "vehicles of interest" associated with auto theft, felony warrants, BOLOs, parking violations, or any other license plate-oriented database, such as Amber Alerts, NCIC, CAD/RMS data extracts, gang members, sex offenders, etc. that the police agency wishes to use.

"The entire Everywhere process," Pinzler added, "from recognition of the plate, to alerting the driver of a hot list "hit" takes less than a second and the data from a full 8 hour shift can be downloaded in less than a minute"

The PS Everywhere can be used throughout North America.
