The American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) selected two TBD Consulting leaders, Karen Trog and Michael Abrams, as speakers for the their annual, professional conference to be held on October 3, 2008 at the Desert Willow Conference Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

The American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) selected two TBD Consulting leaders, Karen Trog and Michael Abrams, as speakers for the their annual, professional conference to be held on October 3, 2008 at the Desert Willow Conference Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Karen Trog, Manager of Learning Services, will present a 1-hour session titled, "Learning Assessment Design." The session provides learning professionals with the theory and skills to increase learners' abilities to accurately retrieve and retain critical information. In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to create well-designed and effective reinforcement questions, coaching tips, survey items and corrective feedback.

Michael Abrams, VP of Learning Technologies, will present a 2-hour workshop titled "Get Virtual! Designing Learning for Second Life™." This highly interactive workshop will include examples of training activities in Second Life™ and provide a model for designing in this new medium.

Michael Abrams, VP of Learning Technologies at TBD Consulting, has been in the Technology and Training industries for more than 17 years, holding executive positions in large Fortune 500 corporations in both the Learning departments and Web Application development teams. Holding an MBA and M.Ed in Learning Technology, Michael's focus has been to explore how technology can be leveraged to bring better learning experiences to learners and drive stronger long-term retention. Michael was listed by InfoWorld Magazine as one of the top 100 innovators in 2001.
