Lynden, WA (PRWEB) August 27, 2008
Bitstudio Games, a video game development studio, today announced that the first two of twenty-four "habitats" for a virtual world based on a children's' book series produced by Smart Kids Publishing, Inc. of San Diego, CA have been completed. The virtual habitats are currently available online at MAFkidsclub.com
The web site hosts a virtual habitat for each of the 24 animals in the My Animal Family book series. The books will be available at Barnes and Noble, Toys R Us, and other retailers this fall. Once a book is purchased, an access code in the book can be used to unlock the correlating virtual habitat. The child can then customize their avatar, play games to earn points, and spend those points on gear for further adventures in the related habitats. Kids will also be able to pool their points together and choose a charity that will help children in underdeveloped nations.
"MAFkidsclub.com is a true collaborative effort between Bitstudio Games and Smart Kids Publishing," says Wes Gray, founder and creative director of Bitstudio Games. "The My Animal Family book and DVD series will be a fun and educational experience for kids. The website we've developed increases the fun factor while maintaining a common theme with the book and DVD."
Each of the habitats feature dozens of interactive games (including puzzles, card, arcade, physics-based, and more). In addition, a full online kids paint program complete with hundreds of coloring and activity pages will keep children engaged for hours. Premium habitats are planned which will feature kid safe chat and co-operative games.
The first book in the My Animal Family series is Ella the Baby Elephant and is available now at Barnes & Noble, online at MAFkidsclub.com, and at most online book retailers for $14.99 which includes the book, DVD, and access code for the online habitat.
