Smithe Furniture (www.smithe.com) feature pitchmen/brothers Walter, Tim and Mark making furniture deliveries to unsuspecting customers. Armed with flowers, balloons and $1,000 gift certificates, the Smithes surprise homeowners in suburban Kane County as well as Chicago's South Loop and West Lakeview neighborhoods, in a style reminiscent of Publisher's Clearinghouse.
As always, the boys are on the go, moving furniture, horsing around on the delivery truck, holding toddlers, making champagne toasts and singing the "you dream it, we build it" company jingle with delighted customers.
"As teenagers, we regularly worked the delivery trucks," says Walter E. Smithe III. "We still do it to stay in touch with our clients, see how our furniture looks in their homes, and share their excitement."
"It's great to see our delivery staff in action, and great to see our customers so happy," adds Tim Smithe.
