Organic Exchange Hosts 6th Global Conference in Portugal Oct. 14-17, 2008
Organic Exchange will host its 6th Global Conference and Marketplace October 14-17, 2008, in Porto, Portugal. More than 300 participants representing leading retailers and brands, innovative manufacturers and organic farming projects from around the world will be attending. The annual conference is widely known as the premier event for anyone involved in the organic fiber value chain.

 The conference, entitled "New Growth Opportunities: Using Organic to Strengthen Sustainability, Resource, and Investment Strategies," will be held at the Porto Palacio Congress Hotel and Spa. More than 300 participants, representing leading retailers and brands, innovative manufacturers and organic farming projects will be attending from around the world.
The annual Organic Exchange conference is widely known as the premier event for anyone involved in the organic fiber value chain.
Providing the keynote is John Elkington, celebrated author on sustainable development and corporate responsibility expert. Other outstanding speakers include: Simonetta Cabonaro, expert in consumer psychology, strategic marketing and design management with REALIZE; Nick Chiarelli, Director of Consumer Trends at GfK Roper Consulting which specializes in analyzing global consumer trends; and, Kate Fletcher, founder of the "slow fashion" concept and lecturer in EcoDesign at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
Pre-conference events include a one day introduction to organic cotton for companies entering the market. The following two-day conference will bring together all members of the cotton value chain to learn about and discuss best practices, emerging issues, and strategies to maximize the return on investment from organic cotton. The event will be followed by a one-day tour of a nearby mill.
