We need to think about what's in our own lives
Elkins, WV (PRWEB) September 4, 2008
"We're sensitive to the needs of protecting children and older adults," said Arlena Straw. "We're all aging and unfortunately it's become a common occurrence to hear about kids being abused by babysitters or elderly folks being abused by their caretakers. We're here to tell people that the violence needs to stop."
Straw co-owns http://www.NannyCamerasPlus.com with her sister. The website, which went live in late July 2008 features a myriad of hidden cameras and recording equipment. Subtle devices such as wall clocks, smoke detectors and clock radios really double as cameras.
"We need to think about what's in our own lives," explained Straw. "We're connected to global needs. Abuse is blind to nationality, genders and age. If there's a way where we can prevent it or catch people in the act and put them away in jail, then we need to make it possible."
Straw's site already has a great catalog of items, at affordable prices, but she plans on further expanding the products - and this is only after a month's of the website's existence. "We're going to offer a wider variety of cameras," said Straw. "Covert cameras are starting to become a common tool and as technology shifts, so will our store."
Contrary to the popularity of webstores like Nanny Cameras Plus, what sets them apart from any other is the hands-on customer service that Straw provides. "We're here and dedicated to providing the best service possible. We're able to answer questions and able to actually engage with the people who buy and use our products," Straw said.
In continuing the mindset of customer communication, Straw has also started an interactive blog, http://www.NannyCamBlog.com, that will focus on the many aspects of covert cameras, including its history, the varying laws and its needs in today's society.
In a way, home security has increased in popularity as a reaction to news magazine shows such as "Dateline" and "20/20" that cover abuse of both young children and the elderly, but for Arlena Straw, her approach for opening the site is much more earnest and dignified:
"We are two sisters who are involved in this business because we're aware of the dangers out there. Some elderly folks just need constant care and we need to make sure that our loved ones are taken care of."
About the Company:
Arlena Straw co-founded http://www.NannyCamerasPlus.com with her sister under the notion of being able to monitor the activities of caretakers who watch children and the elderly. The website launched in July 2008, with a corresponding blog, http://www.NannyCamBlog.com following less than a month later. Nanny Cameras Plus is part of Vonstraw Enterprises Inc.
