Nutraceutical Company Calls for More Independent Studies

Renaissance Health Publishing, a leading formulator and distributor of exclusive, physician-developed anti-aging products, is calling for more independent studies of popular nutraceutical supplements. Renaissance Health Publishing president, James DiGeorgia, says nutraceutical companies are deceiving consumers when they say their products will shield you from Cancer or add 10 years to your life. He is calling for more independent studies.

As more people turn to supplements such as pills, capsules and powders with high hopes of preventing disease, one industry leader is calling for more independent trials of these popular products.

Renaissance Health Publishing, LLC., a leading formulator and distributor of exclusive, physician-developed anti-aging products, says people deserve to know more about the pills and supplements they are putting into their bodies.

"We've known for some time that there are many potential positive benefits from these supplements and some of them have been proven," says James DiGeorgia, president of Renaissance Health Publishing, LLC., "The industry needs to conduct more independent studies so we can say for sure that a particular supplement can protect you against a specific ailment or guard you from one or more diseases."

In 2006, this growing industry raked in more than $56-billion in sales. The market is expected to grow tremendously in the coming years and competition is fierce as more products are being released targeting different diseases and promising prevention. DiGeorgia's call for action is based on misleading claims that have been published by a number of nutraceutical companies.

According to DiGeorgia, many nutraceutical companies are deceiving consumers if they claim their product will shield you from or even cure Cancer or disease. He says supplements might have a definite role in promoting overall good health, but a guarantee that you won't contract a potentially deadly disease or promising an extra "10 years of life" is absolutely crossing the line. He is urging the supplement industry and nutraceutical companies that make up the $56 billion dollar industry, to push for more independent studies funded by non-profit organizations, U.S. government agencies and major universities and medical schools. DiGerogia says people need to better understand the benefits of the ingredients commonly found in literally hundreds of supplement products that are being marketed here in the United States.
