In our home province, we are especially proud to team with Black Coral to deliver this integrated emergency response system.
Ottawa, Ontario (PRWEB) September 5, 2008
The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) has selected a team of Canadian technology companies, led by Black Coral, Inc., to meet their requirements for an emergency management decision support initiative. Assembled by Black Coral as prime contractor, the team includes AGSI, Bell Canada, and Enhanced Data Solutions with Aizan Technologies. The team of companies began work on the AEMA contract on September 3rd.
Black Coral, a privately-held, Ottawa, Ontario, company, is a leading-edge software and services company that has developed a proprietary suite of integrated products for incident management, data exchange, and geospatial collaboration. Their incident management software, SoftRisk®, is provided on a subscription basis and delivered via the Web in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model, so it comes without the burden and up-front cost of installed enterprise programs. It eliminates the need for self-hosted solutions that require IT infrastructure and support, but also ensures that data is highly secure and always available. With its intuitive user-friendly interface, SoftRisk® requires minimal training and can be rapidly deployed. Douglas Duncan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Black Coral said, "We are highly energized and focused with our team members from AGSI, Bell Canada, and EDS on partnering with AEMA to meet their goal for a fully-integrated, state-of-the-art emergency management system throughout the province of Alberta."
AGSI, a privately-held Information and Technology company located in Halton Hills, Ontario, provides a secure Web service technology solution called GO360™. AGSI's GO360™ technology enables corporations to access, view, manage, edit, report, map, analyze and collaborate on their information anywhere, anytime by any authorized user. AGSI's Location Warehouse™ information datasets, combined with GO360™ technology platform, will be seamlessly integrated with the Black Coral SoftRisk® incident management software. Chris Cameron, President and Chief Executive Officer of AGSI, said: "Emergency managers in Alberta will immediately benefit from our GO360™ technology solution, and our 13 years of in-depth experience in collecting, processing, distributing and managing information for our customers. GO360™ will ensure these managers have access to the information they need, when they need it."
Bell is Canada's largest telecommunications company in Canada, providing ICT services to businesses and governments and is the Virtual CIO to small and medium businesses. Bell will host both Black Coral SoftRisk® and AGSI's GO360™ at its secure data centre based in Calgary, one of an integrated network of Bell data centres across the country. The project will also benefit from the rich experience Bell has in emergency communications and services: redundant hosting facilities to eliminate the risk of any single point of failure, full scalability during a crisis, and maximum security of communications and data.
Enhanced Data Solutions, a privately-held company, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, has been a technology solution provider for more than five years with deep experience in meeting the networking, application, and computing needs of industry and government organizations. For the AEMA contract, EDS will represent Aizan Technologies with their outbound broadcast tool for emergency notifications and fully integrate it into Black Coral SoftRisk®. Ryan Sutton from Enhanced Data Solutions said, "In our home province, we are especially proud to team with Black Coral to deliver this integrated emergency response system."
