Jim Barton Joins ENSCO as Vice President, Corporate Business Development

ENSCO announced today that Jim Barton has joined the company as Vice President of Corporate Business Development.

ENSCO announced today that Jim Barton has joined the company as Vice President of Corporate Business Development.

Barton will be responsible for all ongoing business development efforts, with his primary objective being the identification of new opportunities to further enhance ENSCO's successful track record in the industries of national security, transportation and aerospace.

"With his strong operational focus, orientation toward action and results and proven track record, Jim Barton is superbly qualified to lead our talented team of business developers," said ENSCO CEO Paul Broome.

Barton most recently served as the Director, Business Development of Homeland Security Services, for Lockheed Martin's Information Systems & Global Services. At Lockheed, Barton was responsible for strategic business planning and development related to homeland security and homeland defense. He specifically focused on Department of Homeland Security (DHS), other federal civil departments, Department of Defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense, homeland defense, as well as state and local markets.

Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Barton was the Corporate Director of Homeland Security for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), serving in the ongoing war against terrorism and as the company's executive account manager to DHS.

Earlier in his career, Barton worked with the United States Secret Service, a post he held for some 22 years.

Barton is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), as well as a member of the ASIS Council for Terrorism and International Crime. Barton is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from George Mason University.
